Oakferry Games Inc. does not collect, store, sell, share or transmit personal data from anyone who plays SumWord. This page is the game-specific policy; the studio-wide policy is at oakferry.com/privacy.
01What the game collects
Nothing. SumWord has no account, no login, no advertising identifier, no analytics and no third-party software development kit.
Your streak, your lifetime count of exact hits, the number of days you have played and today's guesses are written to local storage on your own device. They never leave it. Deleting the app erases them permanently, and because there is no account behind them we cannot restore them.
02Network access
The game itself makes no network requests. It loads no fonts, no scripts and no images from anywhere other than the app bundle itself, and its content security policy forbids it from doing so. The daily target, the dictionary and the scoring all work identically in airplane mode.
There are two ways something can leave your device, both at your instruction. Sharing your result hands an emoji grid to the iOS share sheet. And if you sign in to Game Center, your scores are submitted to Apple's leaderboards.
03Game Center leaderboards
SumWord has two optional leaderboards. If you sign in to Game Center, how you did on today's target and your lifetime count of exact hits are submitted to Apple so you can compare with other players. This uses the Apple ID you already have; the game has no account or login of its own.
Apple handles all of it under Apple's privacy policy. SumWord has no server, and we never receive, see or store your Game Center identity, your alias or your scores. Decline the sign-in and nothing else about the game changes — the leaderboard button simply does not appear.
04Purchases and advertising
There are none. SumWord is free, contains no in-app purchases and no subscriptions, and shows no advertising. There is no payment path in the app, so there is no billing information for us to see or store.
05Children
SumWord collects no personal information from anyone, and therefore none from children. It serves no advertising and contains nothing that lets a player communicate with strangers or spend money. Game Center leaderboards show scores and Apple aliases only; there is no messaging in the game.
06If you email us
When you write to us for support we necessarily receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to reply, and keep correspondence no longer than we need to resolve the matter. We never add anyone to a mailing list and never pass correspondence to a third party.
07Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict and port personal data we hold about you. In our case there is generally nothing to exercise them against, because we hold nothing — the exception is any email you have sent us.
To make a request, email the address below. If you are in the UK or the EU and are unsatisfied with our response, you may also complain to your national data protection authority.
08Changes to this policy
If the game ever changes what it does — for example by adding a feature that genuinely requires data — we will update this page and change the effective date above before that version ships. We will not begin collecting data quietly under an old policy.
