Something wrong with Driftspell? Write to us and a person will answer.

Driftspell is a daily word game. Seven tiles, five turns, and every tile you do not play drifts one letter forward. If something is wrong, this page is where to start.

The fastest way to get help is to email support@oakferry.com. Tell us your device, your iOS version, and what you expected to happen. There is no ticket system and no bot — the mail reaches a person.

01Where did my streak go?

Your streak, your stats and today’s progress live only on your device, so removing the app takes them with it. There is no account behind them and no server copy, which also means we cannot restore them. Restoring a device from an iCloud backup that included the app brings them back; reinstalling from the App Store does not.

02I finished a puzzle but the leaderboard is empty.

Leaderboards need you to be signed in to Game Center on the device. Open Settings, tap Game Center, and check you are signed in — the trophy button only appears in the game once you are. If you finished a round while offline, the score is held and sent the next time you complete a puzzle or sign in.

03A word I know was rejected.

The game accepts 51,584 words, but no list holds every word anyone knows. Proper nouns, hyphenated words and abbreviations are deliberately out. If an ordinary word was refused, send it to us — genuine gaps get fixed.

04Why is everyone’s puzzle the same?

The daily rack comes from the date, not from a server, so every player gets the same seven tiles and the same drift. That is also why the game needs no network connection to run.

05The puzzle number looks wrong.

Puzzle #1 is 2 September 2026 and the day rolls over at midnight UTC, not at your local midnight. Depending on your timezone the new puzzle can arrive in the middle of your afternoon or your evening.

06Reporting something we should fix

Bug reports are welcome and genuinely get read. The useful ones say what you did, what happened, and what you expected instead. A screenshot helps more than a description of a screenshot.

If the game crashed, we have no crash reporting of any kind — no telemetry, no analytics, nothing that phones home. That is deliberate, and it means we only learn about a crash if you tell us.
